Terms of Service
Standard guidelines for accessing and utilizing the CoShareX browser utility suite.
Last Updated: August 25, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing, browsing, or utilizing the CoShareX website, its subdomains (including file.cosharex.com, paste.cosharex.com, latex.cosharex.com, and formatter.cosharex.com), and the browser-native tools therein, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service, all applicable laws, and regulations. Use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this site. The materials and utilities contained in this website are protected by applicable copyright and trademark law.
2. Direct Client-Side Utility Use & Scope
CoShareX grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access our web utilities. All core services—including but not limited to file slicing, WebRTC tunnel initiation, text syntax formatting, code compilation, and payload encryption—are executed locally in your browser memory space.
You retain absolute custody and responsibility for the files, scripts, logs, passwords, and other inputs you process through our client interfaces. You are responsible for ensuring that your local device meets the performance and security requirements (including WebRTC, WebAssembly, and Web Worker configurations) necessary to utilize these browser runtimes.
3. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree to use our platform and tools only for lawful purposes. You are strictly prohibited from using CoShareX, including our peer-to-peer file sharing and text paste utilities, to transmit, stream, publish, or facilitate the exchange of:
- Any material containing computer viruses, malware, trojan horses, worms, time bombs, keystroke loggers, spyware, adware, or other harmful programs designed to adversely affect the operation of computer hardware or software.
- Content that violates local, national, or international laws, or infringes upon the patents, trademarks, trade secrets, copyrights, or other proprietary rights of any third party.
- Materials designed to facilitate phishing, identity theft, or unauthorized access to external computer networks, databases, or online profiles.
- Automated scrapers, bots, or script sequences that overload our signaling servers or cause degradation of connection services for other peer nodes.
Violation of this acceptable use policy may result in immediate signaling connection ban, IP blocking, or restriction of subdomain services.
4. Non-Custodial Model & No Data Backups
Because CoShareX operates on a non-custodial basis, we do not host, store, or archive the text inputs, files, or formatted objects processed on our platform.
Consequently, we cannot recover deleted files, retrieve lost URL links (including paste links containing local decryption keys), or restore previous workspace settings. You are solely responsible for creating secondary backups, downloading copies of your formatted outputs, and keeping secure records of all links generated on our platform.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
CoShareX website, subdomains, and browser utilities are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. CoShareX makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims and negates all other warranties including, without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property.
Further, CoShareX does not warrant or make any representations concerning the accuracy, likely results, or reliability of the use of the materials on its website or otherwise relating to such materials. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of signaling nodes or error-free WebRTC connections.
6. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall CoShareX, its developers, maintainers, or affiliates be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption) arising out of the use or inability to use the materials or utilities on CoShareX, even if CoShareX has been notified orally or in writing of the possibility of such damage.
Because some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties, or limitations of liability for consequential or incidental damages, these limitations may not apply to you.
7. Terms of Service Modifications
CoShareX may revise these Terms of Service for its website and tools at any time without notice. By using this website, you are agreeing to be bound by the then-current version of these Terms of Service.
8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms of Service and your use of CoShareX shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal action, suit, or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms of Service shall be instituted exclusively in the federal or state courts located in California.
9. Contact Information
If you have any questions, concerns, or inquiries regarding these Terms of Service or our browser-native utilities, please contact our support team at support@cosharex.com.
10. Modifications and Discontinuation of Service
We reserve the right to temporarily or permanently modify, suspend, or discontinue the CoShareX website, subdomains, or any of the browser-native tools and services therein (or any part thereof) at any time, with or without notice. You agree that CoShareX shall not be liable to you or to any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the service.
11. Termination of Access
We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to terminate, restrict, or suspend your access to all or any part of the CoShareX website, subdomains, signaling servers, or utilities at any time, for any or no reason (including, without limitation, violation of these Terms of Service, security concerns, or operational necessity), without prior notice or liability.
12. Intellectual Property Rights
Our Intellectual Property: All content, source code, visual design, layout, assets, trademarks, logos, and proprietary algorithms of CoShareX are the exclusive property of CoShareX and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of our site without prior written consent.
User Content: We claim no ownership over the files, text, snippets, or other inputs you process through CoShareX. You retain full ownership, intellectual property rights, and responsibility for the content you transmit or format using our local browser utilities.
13. Third-Party Content and Services
CoShareX may contain links to third-party websites, services, or resource feeds (for example, Google AdSense ads, third-party analytics scripts, or related external tools). We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for any third-party content, websites, privacy policies, or practices. By using CoShareX, you acknowledge and agree that CoShareX is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of any third-party resource.
